My weapon of choice is a Furious Refined Western Revolver. I’ve seen a lot of debate on the viability of a pistol build in Fallout 76, but I’ve found with the right perks and gear, pistols can be incredibly effective, and a lot of fun. Playing the Gunslinger, you’ll find yourself constantly in the thick of things, trying to stay close, but not too close while you pop off a rapid succession of critical hits. This mid-range build relies on agility and luck. Pistols also lack the armor penetration boost afforded to other builds (Tank Killer/Incisor). It cannot rely on the safe distance of a rifleman or sniper and doesn’t have the tank qualities of a melee build. It isn’t the strongest nor most well protected. It is not a build for the faint of heart. When deciding how I would take on the Wasteland of Appalachia, I gravitated toward this historical icon. He uses his skill to help others in need, even if reluctantly. In pop culture and literature, the heroic version tends to be on the quiet side, not eagerly looking for a fight but efficient and deadly when in one.
